A woman hanging upside down from a Pilates tower, legs hooked over the bar, in a studio

Move likeyou mean it.

What a class feels like

Slow enough to get it right. Hard enough to feel it.

Reformer

Springs and straps that help where you need help and resist where you are ready. Fifty minutes, six people, every spring set for you before you lie down.

A calm studio with wooden reformers in a row under a tall window

Mat

Nothing but you, a mat and the floor. The class that teaches you what your back has been asking for.

Beginners, every week

A class that starts from the start. How to breathe, how to find your centre, how to stop holding your shoulders. Most people stay in it a month, then move on when they are ready.

  • Pre and postnatalSix people, a teacher trained for it, and nothing that strains what is healing.
  • Back careFor the back that has stopped you doing things. Slow, specific, and checked every move.
  • One-to-oneFifty minutes with Hannah and the reformer to yourself. For a goal, an injury, or a nervous first month.

    Book online

Pick a class marked Beginners or any mat class. Say in the notes if anything hurts or if you are pregnant.

  2. 2

    Arrive ten minutes early

Socks with grip, comfortable clothes, water. We go through the two questions that matter before you start.

  3. 3

    The class

Fifty minutes. Hannah shows every move first, then watches. You will be adjusted, gently and often; that is the point of six people.

  4. 4

    After

You will feel muscles you had forgotten. Book the next one before you leave, or do not; nothing is sold to you at the door.

Your teacher

Hannah Reid

I came to Pilates with a bad back and a worse attitude, and stayed because it was the first thing that made both better. I trained in mat and reformer in London and opened North Light in 2023 so that I could teach the way I was taught: small rooms, slow cues, and nobody left to guess.

Book

Your first class is the easy part.

Pick a class, pay for one, turn up. If it is not for you, you have lost an hour and the price of a class, and you will know.

North Light Pilates · 4 North Street, Hatherford HF1 2QJ · Above the bakery, up one flight; the door is green.
I have never done Pilates. Which class?

Beginners mat, any day it runs. Say so when you book and Hannah will have you in her eyeline for the whole fifty minutes.

I have a bad back, a bad knee, or I am pregnant.

Tell us in the booking notes. Back care and pre and postnatal classes exist for exactly this, and in any class the moves change for you, not the other way round.

What do I bring?

Grip socks, clothes you can move in, water. Everything else is here.
